Times of Refreshing ~ Devotional from Heather

Lately I have been facing some difficult and hurtful things. My faith has wavered as I wondered what in the world I was going to do, and I let my emotions lead me into a place of judgementalism...that seemed justified! But thank God I've heard His voice and received His loving correction! I'm so thankful that He's brought me to a place now where in stead of feeling condemned when He corrects me, I'm actually glad because I understand that His correction is because of His love for me and that He is transforming me into His dear image from glory to glory! I'm so thankful that He corrects me so that I can share in His holiness!!! Hallelujah!!!

As God began to open my eyes to my need of repentance, He started dealing with my heart about the truth of His Word, and specifically promises that He Himself has given to me personally! Thank God He still speaks to His children!! How we need to cling to and hold on to His promises!!! These need to be our daily confessions, not our problems, trials, lack, or our feelings, but His truth!! God's Word will never change! It is forever established in Heaven! His Word does not change even when the circumstances and situations around us seem completely opposite!!!

I took these beautiful pictures of the clouds on some of our trips recently. I love the sky...especially clouds! To me, there is nothing more beautiful than when the sun is shining through them. It just makes this glorious, heavenly display!!! Yesterday on the way to Cowboy Church, as I was looking at the beautiful sky and all the pretty clouds, I felt the presence of the Lord so strongly, and I knew He was speaking to my heart. I asked Him what it was He wanted me to know, and I immediately thought of Hebrews 12.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance andactive persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].

Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

Wow!! I dare say that any trial that we could possibly face in this life is nothing compared to what Jesus went through for us!!! And He didn't want to do it, at least his flesh didn't. He prayed in the garden, "Father, let this cup pass from me...NEVERTHELESS, not MY will but Thine be done." And He endured all of the suffering, the shame, and everything else because of the joy that was set before Him! In suffering and giving of Himself completely, He DEFEATED the works of darkness and completely conquered the devil and took back the keys to death hell and the grave!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!

What if we dared to live life in the way that Hebrews 12 teaches? What if in the midst of hardship, pain, and suffering we really looked away from all that tries to distract us and looked unto King Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith? What if we really took the time to consider and meditate on all He endured for us and determined to endure, just like He did, for the joy that is set before us...on the other side of suffering? Let's make up our minds to live this way!!! Let's take God at His Word!!! Just look around you...the whole earth is singing God's praises! He is faithful! I guarantee you it will be an amazing journey and I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that we will see the truth of God's Word start come alive before our eyes and the lies that the enemy has been trying to blind us with will fade away! The truth is, God works ALL things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose! How many blessing in disguise have we missed because of our ungodly attitudes and mindsets? Help us Jesus!

Just like how clouds make the sky beautiful and interesting and carry the rain needed to sustain life here on earth, so our trials and tests make our lives a beautiful piece of art, woven and stitched together by Almighty God Himself!  Without them our faith is nothing. Look at the Hebrews 11 and all of those faith hall of famers!!! What they went through, what they endured, but they had their eyes fixed on the goal and on the prize!!! And by the way, these are the "so great a cloud of witnesses" we are surrounded by that Hebrews 12 talks about.

Today I encourage you to surrender to Father God! He love you so much and has a wonderful plan for your life! Seek Him and you will find Him; knock and the door will be opened to you! I pray His peace and presence guard and guide you in all your ways and that you grow closer to Him with each passing day!!!

I pray this has blessed you! Please message me or comment below with questions or prayer requests.

Times of Refreshing ~ Devotion from Heather

"So rejoice, O children of Zion, And delight in the Lord, your God; For He has given you the early [autumn] rain in vindication. And He has poured down the rain for you, The early [autumn] rain and the late [spring] rain, as before."

~ Joel 2:23 AMP

As I was praying this morning, I was telling the Lord how I just wanted to be closer to Him and experience His manifest presence in greater ways, how I wanted to just have His power fall and see and experience His fullness! I was telling Him that I wanted to be so close to Him that I could hear His heart beat, and that truly is the desire of my heart. I saw a vision of a big wing stretching out to pull in a little child, and I could see the child nestled safely there. God spoke to my heart, "You already are (close to me), just believe it."

As I opened up Bible Gateway to find my reading for today, I saw that the above scripture is their verse of the day! This is the Amplified version and I have never had this verse stand out to me like it did today!
Firstly, it says "Rejoice!!! O children of Zion!!" Zion scripturally is the exact opposite of Mount Sinai, where Moses came into the presence of the Lord and it scared the people so much that they were even afraid to touch the mountain! Zion though, is the place the Lord has brought His blood bought children to! When we are born again, we are citizens of Zion!!!

"And of Zion it will be said,
“This one and that one were born in her;
And the Most High Himself shall establish her.”
The Lord will record,
When He registers the peoples:
“This one was born there.” Selah Both the singers and the players on instruments say,
“All my springs are in you.”

~ Psalm 87:5-7

"But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel."

~ Hebrews 12:22-24

Yes we, the children of Zion ought to rejoice because of who we are!!! We are God's kids!!! We need to start believing and acting like it, and a great place to start is by rejoicing in God and giving Him the praise He is so worthy of!

The next part of this verse is what really jumped out at me today. "He has given you the early autumn rain as vindication, AND he has POURED down the rain for you, the early autumn rain and the late spring rain." Biblically rain and water symbolizes His Spirit, and His Word says that He has already given the rain and poured it out!! I looked up the definition of the word vindication to see how that connected with the rest of the scripture, and what I found was so powerful!

"Vindication is a sweet thing — when you get vindication, you've been proven right or justified in doing something. Everyone accused of a crime craves vindication. Vindication is good, but it can only come after something bad, like being accused of something you didn't do."

Wow!!!! So how cool is this?! God has given the early autumn rain, in other words has poured out His precious Spirit in VINDICATION!!! Check this out - How many times has the enemy made you feel like you were  just a huge disappointment to God? I know he has pulled that one on me many a time, and made me feel guilty for things that I didn't even do! However, God's Word says that He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west!! He has justified us and MADE us righteous and worthy!!!! And the way that His beautiful Spirit moves on us is our vindication, our proof, if you will! The gift of the Holy Ghost is a precious authentication that we are everything He says we are!!! How sweet it that?! Glory to God!!!

Now, don't misunderstand me, this is not a license to do whatever our flesh wants, but rather to free us from sin so that we are free to serve Him, and if Jesus Christ is your Lord, then you ARE free!!!!

I just want to encourage you to know today that God has poured out His sweet Holy Spirit for us!!! All we have to do is believe it and step in! That is quite a different mindset for me. Whenever we are in a service, or whatever the case may be, I have always thought along these lines..."what do we need to do tonight to get God's presence to fall?" But the truth is God is closer to us than our next breath! Let's believe Him and take Him at His Word today!! Let's just step in and experience His fullness, His goodness, His freedom, His peace, and His indescribable, incomparable, everlasting love for us, His dear children!!!!

I pray this was a blessing to you! Please message me with prayer requests and leave me a comment below.

God bless you!!!

Times of Refreshing ~ Devotional from Heather

This is a devotion the Lord gave me back in March and lead me to today to share with you! Be blessed!

For the past two nights I have had dreams concerning wings and feathers, and knew that the Lord was wanting to show me something. So I went to Psalm 91, which I knew spoke of God covering His children with His feathers and us taking refuge under His wings.
I had been having a rough couple of days, dealing with discouragement and doubt. It comes from looking around too much and not looking up. But even in these times of difficulty, when I wonder how He could love me after all the mistakes I've made and the many times I've fallen into doubt and unbelief, even then He is not condemning me, but He's actually calling to me; giving me dreams to point me back in the right direction...into His loving arms! He is a good, good Father! That is truly Who He is! And we are loved by Him! That is who we are!
So of course the verses in Psalm 91 that talk about taking refuge under His wings really stood out to me and touched me because that is where our trust and faith needs to CONSTANTLY be, in His unfailing love for us! But as I read the whole chapter, every single verse just grabbed me!  One verse in particular stood out to me, verse 2, which says: "I will SAY of the Lord, "He is my refuge and fortress!"
I was reminded of the power of our words for either good or evil! I was reminded that God's Word is true, but in order to activate it in our lives we must believe it and bring our minds into alignment with it!!
So I felt lead to share Psalm 91 with you today not just as a text to read, but as a confession to speak out daily!!! The power of life and death is in our tongue! And faith comes by HEARING and hearing by the Word of God!!
It's so incredible and amazing to know and grab hold of the truth of God's Word!! I encourage you to declare Psalm 91 as your war cry today!!!

Today I will dwell in the secret place of the Most High, therefore I will abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
The Lord is my refuge and fortress! He is MY God, in Whom I will trust!!
SURELY He will deliver me from the trap of the enemy and from the perilous pestilence (deadly disease)!
He will cover me with His wings, and under His feathers I will take refuge; His truth is my shield and protection.
I AM NOT afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day! I am not afraid of the pestilence that walks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noonday!
A thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand, but danger will not come near me! I will only be a spectator as I look on and witness the repayment of the wicked, for I am safe in the shelter of the Most High.
Because I have made the Lord Most High my dwelling place, no evil will befall me and no plague will come near my dwelling!
He has commanded His angels in regard to me, and they are bearing me up in their hands, so that I do not even dash my foot against a stone!
I will tread upon the lion and cobra! The young lion and the serpent I will trample underfoot!
Because I have set my love upon Him, He will save me! He will set me securely on high because I know His name and confidently rely on Him, knowing He will never abandon me, no, never!
I will call upon Him and He WILL answer me! He will be with me in trouble! He will rescue me! He will honor me!
With long life He will satisfy me and show me His salvation!!!
I agree with the truth of God's Word today!! I believe and claim His promises and I declare them in the mighty name of JESUS!!! Amen - it is so!!!

Times of Refreshing ~ Devotional from Heather

Today I felt lead to share a devotion that I did back in March. I pray that in ministers to you deeply in Jesus name!

Be still, and know that I am God..." Psalm 46:10

A few weeks ago at our Sunday night Bible study, we had a soaking session. So many times when we come together we pray and pray and rejoice and pray some more, but sometimes maybe we don't take the time to quietly listen for what God may be wanting to tell us. So in this session we all just laid back, closed our eyes, and were still - waiting on the Spirit of the Lord to come and speak to us or do whatever it was that HE wanted to do. It was so powerful, so beautiful, and so freeing!!!! You could hear weeping as God was moving on someone while another was laughing in the Spirit. The presence of the Lord is so incredible, awesome and REAL!!! There is nothing else like it in the whole world!!!!

I just want to say here, before I share with you something that God showed me at this meeting, that I know in these devotions I have been talking a lot about my personal experiences with God. The reason for that is not because I want to be glorified or for folks to think "oh, how spiritual she is!" or something like that. God gets all the glory!!! The reason I am sharing these things is because it's my sincere hope and desire and belief that when God reveals something to us it's not just for us but we can then share that with others so they can be blessed and encouraged too!
Well, while I was just closing my eyes and waiting  on the Lord, all of a sudden I saw this vision. I was above the earth with Jesus and we were just looking down at the earth. Then we began to ascend up, up, and up and all the while the earth is getting smaller and smaller. We stopped ascending and then we sat down on this park bench type deal (in the heavens, with the night sky all around us and all the beautiful stars). I was seated to His right, and I just felt so impressed to lay my head against His chest while His arm was around me resting on my shoulder, and we just sat there together for a long time. It was so sweet and total peace...no need for words. We were just sitting and resting together and I could just feel the love of God so strongly. I began to weep thinking of how real and true and deep His love is for us! It was overwhelming the peace and the love!!!! He showed me several more things, too but that's for another time.

When I got home, I got out my journal to write this vision down to cherish it always! As I was writing, this scripture came to me - "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:4-7  And again I was just totally overwhelmed and taken back by the pure sweetness of God!!! I mean how sweet is that?! To come and show that to me like that!!!!!

Today I want to encourage you and let you know that God is real!!! And His love for YOU is real!!! His greatest desire is to lavish His love on you personally! Take time to come in to His presence, and let Him come and minister to you! Who knows what He may have to say to you or show you! Don't be afraid! He loves you so much! Listen to His words...
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:28

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good brothers and sisters!!!!! Praise the name of Jesus!!!!

If you have questions or comments, please message me!

God bless you!!!!

Times of Refreshing ~ Devotional from Heather

"The singers as well as the players on instruments shall say, All my springs (my sources of life and joy) are in you [city of our God]." Psalm 87:7

God is the source of everything we need, and He lives in us, those of us who have been born again. Just want to encourage someone today to stop trying to do everything in your own strength and being so hung up on performing perfectly. His strength is made perfect in your weaknesses. Come to Him with a sincere and pure heart to serve Him, trust His voice to lead you, and His love for you and for the people you to whom you are sent to minister to cover you - knowing it's not you moving, it's Him! Let Him work through you and trust Him to do it - in spite of you!

The source of everything else that you need is in Him too, and it's found in knowing that you have come to Zion (the city that Psalm 87 is speaking of). Not Mount Sinai a place of great fear, but to an innumerable company of angels and to the spirits of just men made perfect in Jesus Christ! (See Hebrews 12.)

Apart from God we can do nothing, but in Him the possibilities are literally endless!!! Let JESUS be your source today!!!

"Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart." ~ Psalm 37:4

About a week or so ago, I was praying to the Lord about something I really wanted. I was wanting so much to go to an event in Franklin, North Carolina called Musication Nation with The Isaacs and Jimmy fortune. The Isaacs are my favorite group of all time, so this really did mean a lot to me! I knew there was going to be a drawing for free tickets so I prayed "Lord, please let me know win one!" I know that may sound silly, but hey, the Bible says you have not because you ask not, and I know God cares for us like that, so I tend to pray for silly stuff, too! Well, while I was praying, literally midsentence, this knowing just came into my spirit that I was going to win a ticket! I know God's voice, so I just rested in what I heard and felt. A few days later and the winners were announced… Guess who's name was not called... That's right, mine. I was sad thinking that I may not get to go, but I was more sad thinking I had heard God wrong. I thought "What other things am I hearing Him wrong on?"

I knew it was still going to be a wonderful weekend. I got to work at the Restore in King, which I love to do, and another one of my very favorites, Jason Crabb, was going to be in concert in Fairlawn Virginia. So my sweet friend and I went on a short road trip to see him and his incredible band. We got a seat right on the front row, glory to God, and we were so blessed by their incredible ministry! Jason called on me to come and sing with him, "Holy Spirit, You are Welcome Here." I was so honored and humbled to sing with this anointed and insanely talented man of God! I mean what a blessing! It was such an awesome night!!!

The next day, and the last day of Musication Nation, I just decided, "OK, I'm going!" I didn't get home from the Jason Crabb concert til 3am that morning, so it was early afternoon when I came to this decision! I would miss all the other events happening that day in Franklin because of the long drive, but at least I would get to hear the evening concert, so I started on my way!

I arrived at the beautiful Smoky Mountain Arts Center and walked as quickly as I could to the open doors where I could hear the Isaacs' angelic singing permeating the lobby...I was a few minutes late and the concert had just started. I told the lady behind the window I just needed one ticket. She said "Oh, just one?" I nodded. "Well," she said, "I have this ticket right here...it is right in the middle of the auditorium and on the second row, and it is actually free!" Apparently someone had bought the ticket and couldn't use it. I was so happy with my front row seat and my free ticket and was in such a hurry to get in there and enjoy the concert, that I totally forgot what God had told me before! Later on when I was texting Tony and telling him what happened, that's when it hit me like a ton of bricks, I HAD heard God right after all!!! I did win a free ticket!
It really was a great night and I was beyond blessed by the beautiful music and ministry, but even more than that, I just had this sweet peace and felt like I was so special to the Lord. It's hard to even put into words. My heart was so happy. That whole thing was just so very sweet, and it increased my faith so much!

Since then I have been thinking, the Bible says that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think. It is has so often been my experience that when I asked the Lord for something, He not only does that, but He does even more than what I asked!
I know I personally have been asking so little from a God who is capable of such great things, things that just boggle the human mind! I have felt so impressed to begin dreaming great dreams and asking him for things that only He can orchestrate! I'm believing for something right now that is so big!!!! I really believe and know in the very depths of my soul that He will do it! I also know and believe that this great big thing will be just the beginning of supernatural orchestrations to come! I don't want to go into detail about it now because I don't feel like it's time, but when it is, I will definitely let y'all know!

I wanted to share this testimony today to encourage you and let you know that when you are in Christ, and you are delighting yourself in Him, He WILL give you the desires of your heart because those desires were put there by Him!
I just pray and believe that God will meet you right where you are, with the faith you have to work with right now, and that, just like He did for me, He will lovingly show you that He IS with you every moment and that He DOES hear every prayer that you pray, and that He WILL meet those needs according to His will! As you experience His love in the sweet moments, no matter how little the testimony may seem, may your faith grow bigger and stronger, and may you know that God is taking you from level to level, from glory to glory, and from faith to faith! He has such an amazing plan for each one of His children! And I believe truly that we activate that plan by our faith one step after the other!
I pray you are encouraged today to walk with your head held high, resting in knowing just Who your Father is, and who you are to Him!

I pray that you are greatly blessed! Please feel free to leave your comments and prayer requests, or private message me if you prefer.

Love you in the Lord!
